RN - Med/Surg
Job Title: RN - Med/Surg
Location: Elmhurst, New York, 11373
Duration: 04/22/2026 – 07/25/2026
Schedule Notes: Minimum two (2) years Med/Surg experience required; most recent experience within the past one (1) year; experience in acute or post-acute setting; ACLS required for Queens; EPIC EMR preferred
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Schedule: 3 days/week, 11.5 hrs/day, 34.5 hrs/week, No On-Call Required
Work Setting: Acute Care Hospital
Pay Range: $60-$64/hr.
Required Education:
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License with Primary Source Verification
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
- American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Queens only
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum two (2) years Med/Surg experience in acute or post-acute setting
- Physical assessment
- Medication administration
- Wound care and infection control
- IV therapy
- Post-operative care
- Patient education
- Telemetry monitoring
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- EPIC EMR experience
Job Summary:
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Provides direct bedside care to pre- and post-surgical patients
- Prepares, administers, and records prescribed medications
- Performs clinical procedures including dressing changes, catheter insertion, and IV initiation
- Monitors patient vitals and reports adverse reactions
- Operates and adjusts medical equipment as needed
- Collaborates on discharge planning and patient care coordination
- Educates patients and families on procedures and post-care instructions
- Maintains accurate patient records and documentation
