Job Tittle: Cardiopulmonary Tech Assistant

Shift: Day 8hr
Duration: 13 weeks (possibility of extension)
Pay: $30/hr
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Cardiology Supervisor or Director, the Administrative Support Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring operational excellence within the Cardiology Department. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong interpersonal and organizational skills to support clinical workflows, enhance patient experience, and maintain administrative accuracy. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, patient-facing environment and is committed to promoting quality care through seamless coordination, effective communication, and proactive administrative support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for incoming calls; direct calls appropriately with professionalism.
- Schedule and reschedule inpatient and outpatient cardiology procedures, including support for Respiratory and Sleep Medicine departments.
- Confirm appointments and prepare daily department schedules at least 48 hours in advance.
- Obtain insurance authorizations and ensure all physician orders are properly documented and signed.
- Pre-register and register patients using Meditech, ensuring demographic accuracy and required documentation is scanned into the EMR.
- Maintain calendars (Outlook/CWS) and manage departmental resources efficiently.
- Utilize PACS for imaging study transfers and CD burning; prepare EP and Peripheral procedure reports.
- Support quality improvement initiatives through data collection and reporting.
- Review Cath Lab logs for billing accuracy and support timely charge verification.
- Assist with patient dressing/undressing and ensure cleanliness of rooms post-procedure.
- Maintain department procedure statistics and competency tracking grids.
- Respond to SharePoint requests within a 15-minute window.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a healthcare administrative or clerical role.
- Strong understanding of healthcare scheduling systems; Meditech experience strongly preferred.
Familiarity with EMR, PACS, and basic billing workflows
