Job Tittle: Cardiopulmonary Tech Assistant
Location: Salinas, CA
Shift: Day 8hr
Duration: 13 weeks (possibility of extension)
Pay: $30/hr



Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Cardiology Supervisor or Director, the Administrative Support Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring operational excellence within the Cardiology Department. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong interpersonal and organizational skills to support clinical workflows, enhance patient experience, and maintain administrative accuracy. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, patient-facing environment and is committed to promoting quality care through seamless coordination, effective communication, and proactive administrative support.




Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for incoming calls; direct calls appropriately with professionalism.
  • Schedule and reschedule inpatient and outpatient cardiology procedures, including support for Respiratory and Sleep Medicine departments.
  • Confirm appointments and prepare daily department schedules at least 48 hours in advance.
  • Obtain insurance authorizations and ensure all physician orders are properly documented and signed.
  • Pre-register and register patients using Meditech, ensuring demographic accuracy and required documentation is scanned into the EMR.
  • Maintain calendars (Outlook/CWS) and manage departmental resources efficiently.
  • Utilize PACS for imaging study transfers and CD burning; prepare EP and Peripheral procedure reports.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives through data collection and reporting.
  • Review Cath Lab logs for billing accuracy and support timely charge verification.
  • Assist with patient dressing/undressing and ensure cleanliness of rooms post-procedure.
  • Maintain department procedure statistics and competency tracking grids.
  • Respond to SharePoint requests within a 15-minute window.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a healthcare administrative or clerical role.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare scheduling systems; Meditech experience strongly preferred.

Familiarity with EMR, PACS, and basic billing workflows
