Job Title: Travel RN – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Location: Moreno Valley, CA - 92555
Duration: 13 Weeks (Possible Extension)
Shift: Day Shift
Pay: $2500/ - $3000/ Gross Weekly (stipend available if >50 miles)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments upon admission, addressing physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs.
- Reassess patients as warranted and document findings utilizing the nursing process.
- Develop and update individualized care plans based on ongoing assessments and patient progress.
- Administer medications (oral, topical, parenteral) following the “7 Rights” of medication administration.
- Monitor and document responses to medications and treatments; intervene promptly for adverse effects.
- Perform nursing procedures per hospital policy, sterile technique, and patient safety standards.
- Document accurately, legibly, and promptly—including date, time, and credentials.
- Educate patients and families using appropriate teaching tools (e.g., Krames materials).
- Interpret and respond to diagnostic data, communicating critical changes to physicians and care teams.
Requirements
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
- Licensure: Active and unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – Preferred
- ACLS – Preferred (depending on unit policy)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience in an acute care setting.
