Location: Brooklyn, NY 11212
Duration: 3 Months+
Pay Range: $60 - $65/hr. on W2
Shift Hours: Nights (3 days per week & every other weekend required)

Job Summary:
Utilize the nursing process in the provision of direct patient care. Responsible and accountable for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating all care provided to assigned patients. Delivery of care is based on standards of care established by the Department of Nursing and hospital policies. Diagnose and treat human responses to actual and potential health problems through case finding, health teaching, health counseling, and supportive or restorative care. Supervise patient care provided by LPNs, RNPs, nursing attendants, technicians, and supplemental staff.

- 3-5 years’ experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center required
- Certifications required: TCAR, BLS, ACLS
- Competent in CRRT, Impella, Swan-Ganz, A-lines, vent/tracheostomy, gastrostomy tubes, and medication titration
- No RTO (Request for Time Off) allowed
Job Summary:

Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess immediate and continuing care needs of patients and significant others
- Develop comprehensive and current plans of care including physical needs, patient teaching, discharge planning, and psychosocial/spiritual needs
- Provide direct patient care based on assessed needs and medical regimen
- Oversee and ensure provision of all aspects of care for assigned patients
- Supervise care provided by other nursing personnel as defined in the unit’s Product of Practice
- Observe, evaluate, document, and communicate patient responses to illness and therapeutic modalities
- Ensure timely reassessment of patient responses to treatment and respond to significant changes in condition or diagnosis
- Coordinate the overall plan of care to ensure nursing interventions align with the medical regimen
- Establish care priorities in collaboration with multidisciplinary team and initiate follow-up to ensure timely care
- Assure age-specific care needs (pediatrics, geriatrics) are integrated in the plan of care
- Accept responsibility and accountability for nursing interventions and outcomes based on clinical judgment
- Participate in quality improvement activities related to patient care delivery and standards development
- Demonstrate effective communication, manage stressful situations, and facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration
Additional Responsibilities:
- Participate in nursing staff orientation and preceptorship
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities as delegated by Nurse/Manager
- Ensure appropriate patient coverage by assisting and relieving co-workers and floating to other units as needed
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff
- Serve as a clinical resource for student nurses
- Participate in meetings, committees, conferences, and educational programs
- Engage in nursing research and pilot projects supported by the Nursing Department
- Pursue continuing professional growth and education, including attendance at staff development and continuing education programs, pursuit of baccalaureate/graduate degrees, and relevant certifications
- Participate in appropriate professional and community organizations
Qualifications:
- Completed BSN required
- 3-5 years of Trauma Center nursing experience (Level I or II) required
- Current certifications: TCAR, BLS, ACLS required
- Competent with CRRT, Impella, Swan-Ganz catheters, A-lines, ventilator/tracheostomy care, gastrostomy tubes, and medication titration
- Ability to fully utilize electronic health record (EHR), billing, and healthcare systems
- Strong interpersonal skills
Experience:
- No experience required but preferred
