RN - Med Surg

7PM-7AM, WORKER REQUIRED TO FLOAT TO AN EQUAL OR LESSER ACUITY IF REQUESTED

Schedule Notes: Auto offers approved REQUIRED: 2+ years of general med-surg unit experience, BLS certification from AHA. Preferred: 1+ years of experience working on a surgical floor. Floating: Candidates may be asked to float; location is acuity adaptable. May be asked to float to lockdown unit. Block scheduling unable to be approvedcannot guarantee the same days each week, but the site tries to schedule shifts consecutively. OT billed after 48 hours.

Job Summary:
Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

Required Education:

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

Preferred Education:

• Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN).

Required Certification & Licensure:

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.

• BLS.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans within the unit/department to which staff is assigned.

• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.

• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
