Trained/certified to administer chemo/immunotherapy
The Outpatient IV Therapy Nurse, in collaboration with the patients care team, evaluates each patients appropriateness for treatment and provides direct patient care as ordered.Care provided includes, but is not limited to, the administration of oncologic and non-oncologic medications, including high risk and/or hazardous compounds (if the administering nurse is appropriately credentialed), the administration of blood products and other supportive care treatments and the provision of urgent/emergent medical care to patients experiencing a medical emergency in the outpatient infusion setting.

RN License to practice in the state of Maine.

Unit Information:
Number of Chairs: 21 infusion spaces, average daily census of 46 patients per day.
Patient Ratios: varies based on length/type/acuity of treatments provided but ranges from 1:7 to 1:9 per day
Equipment : IV Pump
EMR: Epic
Hiring Profile:
Must Have Skills/Experience: Peripheral IV skills, central line care, med administration, blood transfusions
Preferred Skillset/Experience: Chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration.
Type of Patients on Unit: Outpatients
Personality Fit: Self initiator, Team oriented- good communication, reliable, flexible, and ability to adjust/shift priorities throughout day. Focus on quality patient centered care.
Dress Code:
Scrub Color: Any scrubs other than hospital issued scrubs
Any unacceptable attire: Hospital issued scrubs, unprofessional attire.
