RN - Intensive Care Unit (Neuro)
Join our dedicated team at the Neurosurgical ICU at Client Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC, where we are committed to providing high-quality and compassionate patient care to neurosurgical, neurological, and critically injured patients. Our 22-bed unit caters to patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, brain tumors, epilepsy, spine injuries, neuromuscular illnesses, neurodegenerative illnesses, neurotrauma, and central nervous system disorders. Enjoy a patient ratio of 1 to 2, ensuring personalized and focused care.
Responsibilities
- Deliver competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.
- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.
- Participate in identifying and meeting learning needs of self and attend education programs.
- Use patient education materials relevant to patient population and assess readiness to learn.
- Identify expected patient outcomes and seek guidance in revising care plans as needed.
- Communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care.
- Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems.
- Perform bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plan.
- Consult with appropriate resources regarding patients with complex care issues.
- Participate in development and achievement of unit goals and performance improvement activities.
- Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment for all.
- Collaborate with patient/family to prepare or update the plan of care.
Skills and Experience
- Required: One (1) year of nursing experience.
Education
- Required: Nursing Diploma OR ADN or ASN from an accredited school of Nursing.
- Preferred: BSN or MSN from an accredited school of Nursing.
Certifications & Licensure
- Required: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC).
