Job Summary:
Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse provides nursing care to a diverse patient population with health conditions ranging from simple to complex.
 
Essential Responsibilities:

• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments; record any changes in physician orders.
• Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
• Obtain and monitor patients’ physiological data; observe clinical signs and intervene as necessary.
• Administer medications, initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
• Deliver competent patient care.
• Communicate care plans with patients and their families during hospitalization and at discharge.
• Inform patients and families about hospital procedures.
• Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
• Delegate tasks to support staff effectively.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

 
Required Skills & Experience:

• Knowledge of nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply appropriate nursing techniques.
• Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to respond to diverse cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
• Basic computer skills.
