Shift: Night Shift: 07:00 PM to 07:30 AM

Description:
The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. The RN ensures patient safety and positive outcomes through comprehensive assessments, individualized care planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and continuous evaluation.

Description:
The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. The RN ensures patient safety and positive outcomes through comprehensive assessments, individualized care planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and continuous evaluation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment: Perform thorough and ongoing multi-system assessments, including biophysical, psychosocial, and discharge planning needs. Identify deviations from normal diagnostic and lab results and document findings accurately.
- Care Planning: Develop and maintain individualized nursing care plans that are responsive to the developmental and medical needs of each patient. Coordinate with physicians, ancillary departments, and community resources to ensure cohesive care and safe discharge planning.
- Care Implementation: Execute physician orders and clinical protocols accurately. Perform required procedures, administer medications safely, and utilize patient teaching resources to support health education and informed decision-making.
- Team Collaboration & Delegation: Appropriately delegate tasks to support staff based on scope of practice and patient acuity. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Documentation & Emergency Response: Maintain complete and compliant documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR). Respond effectively in emergency situations, initiating appropriate interventions based on established protocols.
- Evaluation & Quality Improvement: Continuously evaluate patient outcomes and nursing interventions. Participate in unit-based quality improvement and performance evaluation initiatives.
Qualifications & Licence :
- Minimum one (1) year of in Labor and Delivery experience in the last three (3)years.
- Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (AHA)
- Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
