Job Title: Travel RN Labor & Delivery Nurse
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Duration: 3 Months+ (Possibility of Extension)
Shift : Days/Nights 12hrs with every other weekend both available
Guaranteed Hrs.: 36hrs
Pay rate: Best as per market rate

Under general supervision, the nurse provides care to a wide range of patients, addressing both simple and complex health issues in a hospital setting.

Job Summary:
Under general supervision, the nurse provides care to a wide range of patients, addressing both simple and complex health issues in a hospital setting.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Patient Care Management: Takes responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
- Documentation: Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments. Notes changes in physician orders for assigned patients.
- Assisting Physicians: Assists physicians during patient examinations and performs minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Monitoring and Observation: Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes physical manifestations, and intervenes when necessary.
- Medication Administration: Administers prescribed medications and manages intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Competent Care Delivery: Delivers patient care competently and consistently.
- Patient and Family Interaction: Communicates care plans to patients and families, both during hospitalization and at discharge.
- Patient Education: Provides information about hospital procedures to patients and families.
- Referrals: Makes referrals for additional patient care needs as necessary.
- Delegation: Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate.
- Other Duties: Performs other tasks as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Nursing Knowledge: Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Organization and Coordination: Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services, and apply nursing techniques.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
- Basic Computer Skills: Some familiarity with computers and hospital management systems.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from an approved nursing program.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- Current RN License
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certificate required within 12 months of hire.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Other skills Requirements:
- 2 years of experience required.
- Must be able to independently circulate surgeries and have PACU skills.
- Experience with Magnesium therapy and Insulin drips.
- Must be independent in newborn care (initial resuscitation and routine care).
