Duration: 3 Months+ (Possibilities of Extension) Contract
Shift: 3*12hrs (Days/Nights)
Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse provides advanced, comprehensive, and compassionate care to critically ill patients with complex and life-threatening conditions. This role is responsible for continuous assessment, monitoring, and management of patients requiring ventilator support, hemodynamic stabilization, and intensive therapeutic interventions. The RN collaborates closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse provides advanced, comprehensive, and compassionate care to critically ill patients with complex and life-threatening conditions. This role is responsible for continuous assessment, monitoring, and management of patients requiring ventilator support, hemodynamic stabilization, and intensive therapeutic interventions. The RN collaborates closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care in the ICU setting, caring for critically ill patients
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with complex, life-threatening conditions
- Monitor vital signs, hemodynamic status, and ventilator settings
- Administer medications, IV infusions, blood products, and other therapies as needed
- Respond to and manage emergencies, including cardiac arrests, rapid responses, and code situations
- Perform advanced procedures and assist with invasive line placement, central venous lines, arterial lines, and more
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, etc.) to optimize patient care
- Document all patient care, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly in the Electronic Medical Record (e.g., EPIC)
- Educate patients and families about diagnosis, care plan, and discharge as appropriate
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives, infection control, patient safety, and compliance efforts
Required Qualifications:
- Active RN license (State license or compact)
- At least 2+ years of ICU experience or equivalent critical care experience
- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, ventilator management, and critical care medications
- Strong ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress, team-based ICU environment
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
- Proficient in documentation using electronic medical records (EMR), such as EPIC
Required Certification & Licensure:
- Active RN License (State of OR)
- AHA BLS
- AHA ACLS
