Job Title: Registered Nurse (L&D) Labor & Delivery
Location: San Leandro, CA
Assignment Length: 3 Months+ (possibility of extension)
Shift: 7:00 AM to 07:30 PM
Schedule: 36 hours per week (3x12-hour shifts)
Available Departments: L&D Department
Pay Rate: $65 - $85/hour
Note: STIPEND IS ALSO PROVIDED TO THE CANDIDATE LIVING MORE THAN 50 MILES FROM THE FACILITY.

Job Duties:
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being through physical assessments, fetal monitoring, and vital signs.
- Assist and support patients through labor, including administering medications (e.g., epidurals, oxytocin), pain management, and emotional support.
- Prepare for and assist during vaginal or cesarean deliveries, ensuring sterile technique and readiness of equipment.
- Monitor and provide care for the mother and newborn immediately after delivery, assessing for complications.
- Recognize and respond to obstetric emergencies such as preeclampsia, haemorrhage, or fetal distress.
- Educate patients and families on labor processes, newborn care, and postpartum recovery. Collaborate closely with physicians, midwives, and care teams.
- Accurately document care provided, assessments, and patient responses in the medical record.
- Follow hospital protocols, infection control, and safety procedures to ensure quality care.
Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year Clinical Registered Nurse experience preferred in specialty areas.
- Minimum 1 years’ experience as L&D RN.
- Must have travel experience.
Certificate:
- BLS – AHA
- ACLS – AHA
- NRP
