Job Title: RN - Telemetry
Location: Detroit, MI 48236
Duration: 3 + Months (Possibility of Extension)
Hours per Week: 36 hours (5 days/week)
Schedule: 19:00 - 07:30, 3x12-hour rotating shifts, every other weekend required
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse on the Medical Surgical unit provides leadership in coordinating and delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care. Utilizing the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—the nurse provides, delegates, supervises, and documents patient care and education for patients and their families. Effective communication with the healthcare team and proactive problem-solving to address patient care variances are essential responsibilities.

Education & Licensure:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (Required)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association (Required)
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience (Required)
- Strong clinical knowledge and analytical skills to develop and implement effective nursing care plans
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing duties independently
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare personnel
- Experience interpreting printed cardiac rhythm strips
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
Additional Information:
- The unit primarily manages patients with respiratory conditions, including those requiring infectious isolation, as well as patients undergoing substance/alcohol withdrawal.
- Candidates must be able to work with minimal supervision.
