Job Title: RN - Labor & Delivery
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11212
Contract Length: 3 + Months (Possible Extension)

Shift: Night Shift - 3 Days per week & Every Other Weekend Required. No Rto.
 
Schedule: 3 days per week, 7.5 hours per day, 34.5 hours per week
Pay Range: $65 - $70/hr. on W2
 
Education Requirements:
Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
 
Licensure & Certifications:
Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • NRP.
  • ACLS.
  • BLS.
 
Preferred Certifications & Licensure:
  • Board Certification.
 
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience.
  • Competency in medication titration.
 
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • One (1) year of PICU or NICU care experience.
 
Job Summary:
  • Utilize the nursing process in the provision of direct patient care.
  • Responsible and accountable for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating care for assigned patients.
  • Deliver care based on standards established by the Department of Nursing and applicable hospital policies and procedures.
  • Diagnose and treat human responses to actual and potential health problems through health teaching, counseling, and supportive or restorative care.
  • Supervise patient care provided by licensed practical nurses (LPNs), registered nurses on permit (RNP), nursing attendants, technicians, and supplemental staff.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Assess immediate and ongoing care needs of patients and significant others.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive plans of care, including physical, psychosocial, spiritual, teaching, and discharge needs.
  • Provide direct patient care based on assessed needs and medical regimens.
  • Oversee and ensure all aspects of patient care delivery.
  • Supervise care provided by nursing personnel within scope of practice.
  • Observe, evaluate, document, and communicate patient responses to illness and therapeutic interventions.
  • Ensure timely reassessment when changes occur in patient condition or diagnosis.
  • Coordinate overall plans of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Establish priorities and initiate follow-up to ensure timely interventions.
  • Integrate age-specific care needs as defined by unit scope of care.
  • Accept accountability for nursing interventions and outcomes based on professional judgment.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and development of nursing standards.
  • Demonstrate effective communication, stress management, and interpersonal skills.
 
Other Responsibilities:
  • Participate in orientation of nursing staff.
  • Assume charge responsibilities as delegated.
  • Assist with coverage across units as assigned.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for student nurses.
  • Participate in meetings, committees, conferences, and educational programs.
  • Participate in research and pilot projects supported by the Nursing Department.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuing professional growth and education.
  • Participate in appropriate professional and community organizations.
