Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care
Job Location: Brooklyn, NY 11212
Job Duration: 3+ Month (with possible extension)

Pay Range: $60 – $65/hr. on W2
Shift Hours: Day or Night Shift (3 days per week & every other weekend required)

Schedule Notes:
  • Certifications Required: TCAR, PALS, ACLS, BLS
  • Education Required: Completed BSN
  • License: Active RN license in good standing
  • RTO: Not permitted – no time-off requests allowed
  • Submission Note: Do not submit candidates without all required certifications
 
Job Summary:
The RN is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide direct patient care and for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating all care provided to assigned patients. Care delivery aligns with the Department of Nursing standards, hospital policies, and multidisciplinary protocols. The RN diagnoses and treats actual or potential health problems through case finding, health education, counseling, and restorative care. Oversight includes supervision of care provided by LPNs, RNPs, nursing attendants, technicians, and supplemental staff.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assess immediate and ongoing care needs of patients and families
  • Develop and update individualized care plans, including discharge and psychosocial/spiritual needs
  • Deliver direct patient care and supervise care by other nursing personnel
  • Document and communicate patient responses to illness and therapeutic interventions
  • Coordinate nursing interventions with the medical regimen
  • Prioritize care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Ensure age-specific needs (e.g., pediatrics, geriatrics) are addressed in care planning
  • Maintain accountability for clinical judgments and outcomes
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and policy development
  • Communicate effectively, manage stressful situations, and foster interdisciplinary collaboration
 
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Participate in nursing staff orientation and act as a preceptor when needed
  • Assume charge nurse duties as delegated
  • Support team members with coverage, including floating to other units as needed
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic care environment
  • Act as a clinical resource for student nurses
  • Attend meetings, educational sessions, and professional development programs
  • Contribute to research and nursing innovation projects
  • Actively pursue ongoing education and certifications
  • Join and participate in relevant professional and community organizations
 
Qualifications:
  • Certifications: TCAR, PALS, ACLS, BLS (All Required)
  • Education: BSN (Required)
  • License: Active RN License
  • System Knowledge: Ability to utilize EMR and billing systems
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills
 
Experience:
  • Experience preferred but not required
