Job Title: Operating Room Tech – Surgical Technician
Location: Portland, ME 04102
Contract Duration: 3 Months+ (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (12-hour shifts)
Schedule: 36 hours/week guaranteed; 1 in 4 weekends required
Start Date: ASAP
Position Overview:
We are seeking experienced Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs) to join our dynamic Operating Room team at a high-volume Level One Trauma Center. Candidates must have at least 2 years of Level 1 Trauma experience specifically in General Surgery. Proficiency with DaVinci robotic systems, Whipple procedures, burn care, and thoracic cases is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist surgical teams in a 36-bed OR performing complex trauma and general surgery procedures.
- Handle surgical equipment including Storz, Stryker, Olympus, and Intuitive DaVinci Robot.
- Be available for on-call trauma coverage (one overnight call from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM) and specialty team call, if applicable (Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular, Neuro).
- Collaborate with a diverse team in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.

- Specialties: General Surgery, GU/GYN, Joints, Neurosurgery, ENT, Pediatrics, Plastics, Dental, Endovascular
- Electronic Medical Record: Epic
Qualifications:
- Certification: CST certification required
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Level 1 Trauma Center required
- Preferred Experience: General, GU/GYN, Joints, Neurosurgery, ENT, Pediatrics, Plastics, Dental, Endovascular
- Skills: Expertise in robotic surgery, trauma procedures, burns, and thoracic surgeries
Other Requirements:
- Dress Code: Hospital-issued teal scrubs
- Float: No float required
- Soft Skills: Must be a flexible, accountable, punctual team player with a collaborative attitude
