RN Modified Care Unit (Cardiac)

Job Title: RN Modified Care Unit (Cardiac)
Location: Menomonee Falls, WI
Duration: 3 Months / 13 weeks (Possibilities of Extension or temp. to hire)

Shift: Days/Nights 12-hours, float as needed, every other weekend
 
Job Description:

• Patient Monitoring & Care – Provide continuous assessment and care for post-cardiac surgery and critical cardiac patients who no longer need ICU-level care but require close monitoring.
• Medication Administration – Safely administer cardiac medications, IV drips, and pain management treatments while monitoring for adverse reactions.
• Telemetry & Equipment Use – Interpret telemetry readings, recognize arrhythmias, and respond to cardiac emergencies using specialized equipment.
• Collaboration & Communication – Work closely with cardiologists, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans and update patient progress.
• Patient & Family Education – Educate patients and their families on post-discharge care, medication management, lifestyle changes, and warning signs of complications.

 
Experience:

• 2 years of experience in relevant unit required (Cardiac).
• Experience working with diverse patient population including MI, CHF, COPD, strokes, stable arrhythmias, and any other patient needing closer cardiac monitoring and assessment.

 
Education:

• Associate in Nursing required.
• Bachelors in Nursing preferred.

 
Certifications and Licenses:

• BLS (AHA) required
• ACLS (AHA) required
• RN license of WI or Compact State License
