Under general supervision of a Radiologist, the Radiologic Technologist performs radiology procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients as ordered for diagnosis of disease and injury, adhering to established protocols and safety standards.

Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of radiologic technologist experience
- Must be proficient and confident in a busy Level I Trauma Emergency Department

Job Summary:
Under general supervision of a Radiologist, the Radiologic Technologist performs radiology procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients as ordered for diagnosis of disease and injury, adhering to established protocols and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality radiology procedures in a timely manner following exam protocols.
- Understand and monitor radiation dose reference levels and take appropriate action when limits are exceeded.
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients and families using AIDET techniques.
- Prepare patients and equipment for procedures, ensuring proper positioning and exposure settings.
- Maintain radiation safety, infection control, sterile technique, and hand hygiene standards.
- Keep imaging equipment and work areas clean and fully operational; coordinate with engineers and physicists as needed.
- Screen individuals entering the department per approved policies.
- Maintain and verify accurate documentation such as patient history, requisitions, consents, and shielding precautions.
- Maintain medical imaging records according to departmental policies and standards.
- Provide first aid and emergency response when necessary.
- Ensure patient satisfaction by minimizing wait times, providing courteous service, and remaining professional under stress.
- Serve as preceptor to train new staff and support new initiatives.
- Take call if required.

- Independently perform radiologic exams with minimal supervision.
- Effectively explain procedures and reassure patients.
- Deliver timely, accurate, and compliant services.
- Demonstrate calm and professional demeanor, even in stressful situations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills for all patient age groups (newborn to geriatric).
