Job Title: Registered Nurse II – Labor & Delivery
Location: Salinas, CA 93901
Job Duration: 3 Months+ (possibility of extension)
Shift: 7 pm – 7 am (36 hours weekly)
Start available: September
Pay Range: $3600 - $3850/weekly. on W2
Note: Stipend is also provided to the candidate living more than 50 miles from the facility.
Referral bonus on each successful referral.
Role Overview:
The Registered Nurse II delivers comprehensive, individualized nursing care in the Labor & Delivery unit. Working under the supervision of the Director, the RN II assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care in accordance with hospital policies and the Nurse Practice Act. This role involves collaboration with physicians, healthcare teams, and patients/families to ensure safe and effective outcomes. The nurse will also act as a charge nurse or preceptor as needed and may float to other similar departments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complete and accurate nursing assessments; document in the patient record
- Develop individualized plans of care based on assessment and patient developmental needs
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to establish and adjust plans of care
- Provide, coordinate, and delegate nursing care in alignment with unit policies
- Manage discharge planning and patient/family teaching effectively
- Deliver safe care according to hospital policies and procedures
- Continuously evaluate patient response to interventions and update the plan of care accordingly
- Promote patient’s physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being
- Participate in performance improvement activities and departmental goals
- Maintain flexibility and adaptability to changing unit and hospital needs
- Utilize effective communication skills to resolve conflicts and promote teamwork
- Ensure cost-effective care through prudent use of time, equipment, and supplies
- Adhere to safety standards to ensure a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors
- Serve as preceptor and/or charge nurse when assigned
- Float within cluster/similar departments as needed
- Participating in hospital inservices, training, and committee work
- Perform other duties as assigned
Licensure/Certifications:
- Current California RN License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- AS in Nursing
