Travel: RN - Emergency Room
Job Title: Travel RN Emergency Room (Nights)
Location: Alexandria, LA 71301
Duration: 13 weeks (Contract | Temp to perm possible)
Shift/Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM 7:00 AM | Every other weekend
Job Responsibilities:

Provide independent nursing care in a very high-acuity Emergency Department.

Deliver routine and complex patient care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation).

Manage high-acuity cases including strokes, cardiovascular conditions, diabetes, wounds, behavioral health, sepsis, and some trauma (not a trauma-designated unit).

Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.

Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.

Accurately document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.

Educate patients, families, and caregivers; assess learning needs and provide resources.

Make appropriate patient care assignments and delegate tasks to support staff.

Meet Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.

Requirements:

Licenses/Certifications:

Active RN License in state of employment or compact

BLS certification required
-
ACLS certification required
-
PALS certification required
-

Experience:
-
Minimum 1 year of experience in Emergency Department or related nursing specialty preferred

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Other Requirements:
-
Attend New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days of hire

Complete Emergency Departmentspecific and organizational competency validations
-
Complete annual competency verification requirements
-
Preferences:
-
High-acuity Emergency Department experience
-
Comfortable with nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1
-
Interest in potential temp-to-perm placement
