Job Description:
The ICU Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality care to critically ill patients, performs independent nursing functions, and delegates medical functions according to accepted practice standards. This role requires the ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care, ensuring the highest standard of patient care within the ICU.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment & Care: Continuously evaluate health status by collecting and assessing health data, identifying changes in patient conditions.
- Patient Education: Provide health teaching and counselling to patients and their families to support recovery and well-being.
- Therapy & Treatment: Deliver direct or consultative care for therapy and treatment to promote patient well-being.
- Delegated Medical Functions: Carry out medical functions as delegated, referring patients for further evaluation or treatment as necessary.
- Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate with the healthcare team to monitor and adjust therapy and treatment plans.
- On-Call & Flexibility: May be required to float to other departments based on business needs or be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
- Mission & Values: Promote the mission, vision, and values of Client Health, adhering to service behaviour standards.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
- Previous experience in an ICU or critical care setting preferred.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of ICU protocols and patient care techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient care standards are met.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and demands.
Additional Information:
- Full-time availability required for this role, with potential on-call or floating assignments as needed.
