Job Summary:
The Psychiatric RN Night Shift provides leadership in patient care, utilizing the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics, and organizational standards. The role includes delegation, supervision of licensed and ancillary staff, and accountability for quality patient outcomes. Sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity is essential, and the RN participates in achieving unit and departmental strategic goals while supporting the organization’s philosophy of nursing.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct psychiatric patient care using the nursing process.
• Assess patient learning needs and implement appropriate teaching strategies.
• Delegate and manage nursing team resources effectively.
• Serve as a leader and partner on the Interdisciplinary Team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Utilize data and knowledge to evaluate patient outcomes and promote care improvements.
• Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and organizational policies.
• Foster customer satisfaction, team morale, and professional development.
• Perform other related duties as required.

• Required: RN diploma, current RN license in the state of practice.
• Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

• Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience required.
• Psychiatric experience required.

• Required:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Certification – current within 12 months
• Preferred: Specialty nursing certification

• Proficient in computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

• Frequently lift/move 10–20 lbs; occasionally up to 100 lbs.
• Work exceeds sedentary activity; includes patient handling and mobility.
