Duration - 13 weeks
SHIFT: 3 Days – 12 Hour Shifts
SHIFT:
Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
START DATE:
ASAP
RATE:
UNIT DETAILS:
- Cardiac and Telemetry Unit (Not a Stepdown Unit)
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 5:1 – 6:1 depending on staffing
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-Call Requirement: None
- Temp-to-Perm possibility available
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- BLS Certification from AHA required
- ACLS Certification from AHA required
- Active RN License in state of employment or Compact State license
SUMMARY:
The Registered Nurse practices independently in a similar clinical setting and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. Provides routine and complex nursing care while continuing to develop the ability to manage clinical contingencies and patient needs effectively.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Administers medications and treatments per protocol while monitoring effectiveness and side effects
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, families, and caregivers
- Meets applicable Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders
- Makes appropriate assignments and delegates tasks to other care providers as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Skills:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Completion of orientation and competency requirements upon hire
Experience:
- 1 year of related nursing specialty experience preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- BLS required
- Current ACLS Certification required
- RN License in state of employment or Compact State license required
