Requirements:
- Active Florida RN license or multi-state compact license required
- Current NRP, and BLS certifications required
- Minimum of 1 year of NICU experience required
- Proficient with ventilators, oscillators, and vasopressors
Job Description:
- Neonates are admitted primarily from Labor & Delivery, ranging from 23 weeks gestation to 4 months of age.
- The NICU team responds to neonatal emergencies and attends C-sections and high-risk deliveries.
- Conditions treated include extreme prematurity, respiratory distress, sepsis, hypoglycemia, congenital anomalies, seizures, and meconium aspiration.
- Services include CPAP, mechanical ventilation (including high-frequency oscillation and nitric oxide therapy).
- Nurses assist with IV insertion, intubation, catheter placement, parenteral therapy, blood administration, bronchopulmonary hygiene, medication administration, vital sign monitoring, and parent education.
- Most diagnostics are performed at the bedside.
