Registered Nurse (RN) - Hospice
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Hospice
Shift: Afternoons (1:30 PM 10:00 PM)
Location: Owosso, MI
Start Date: June 9, 2025
Type: Permanent Position
Role Overview:
Facility is seeking a compassionate and experienced Hospice RN to deliver patient-centered, in-home care for individuals with life-limiting conditions. This role focuses on providing comfort, emotional support, and quality-of-life interventions during the end-of-life stage. The RN will play a vital role in coordinating care, educating families, and supporting patients through their final journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive in-home hospice nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
- Establish and revise individualized care plans to address patients' physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Administer medications and perform treatments per physician orders and hospice protocols.
- Monitor symptom management, particularly pain, anxiety, and respiratory issues.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients, families, and caregivers.
- Maintain clear and timely documentation of care and patient progress.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary hospice team including physicians, chaplains, social workers, and CNAs.
- Participate in weekend coverage and on-call rotations as needed.
- Adhere to infection control, medication safety, and hospice regulatory guidelines.
- Current Michigan RN License Required
- BLS Certification Required
- Minimum of 2 years RN experience Required
- Hospice experience Required
