Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – OR
Location: West Bend, WI, 53095
Duration: 3 Months+ (Possible Extension)
Shift: 2nd Shift (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM)
Schedule: 5 days/week, 40 hours/week
PM shift with call, including weekend call. Weekends required. On-call required.
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse is a practitioner responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatient environment. This role incorporates essential functions from the ANA Nursing: Product and Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition (2010), and demonstrates competency in care delivery to a primarily adult population.
Essential Duties:
- Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health and situation.
- Analyses assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues.
- Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient.
- Develops and implements plans to attain expected outcomes.
- Evaluates progress toward outcomes.
- Contributes to a quality nursing practice through creativity, innovation, and evidence-based practice.
- Uses benchmarks and the PDSA model for improving nursing practice and outcomes.
- Participates in cost reduction and efficiency initiatives.
- Responds consistently to patient needs and call lights in a timely manner.
- May function in the scrub role in the OR after completing training/competency.
- Practices in an environmentally safe and healthy manner.
- Communicates effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
- Collaborates with patients, families, and others in care delivery.
- Advocates ethically for patient autonomy, informed decision-making, and safety.
- Utilizes appropriate resources for safe, effective, and financially responsible care.
Education:
- ASN – Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing – Preferred.
- Wisconsin RN license or multi-state license through the Nurse Licensure Compact – Required
- BLS (AHA or AHA-approved equivalent) – Required.
- Clinical competence and experience in the care and management of target patient populations specific to the area of employment – Required
