Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
- Appropriately assesses, plans, implements, and evaluate patient care.
- Monitors, records, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
- Circulates during C/Sections, attends deliveries assisting the physician as needed.
- Follows appropriate policies during the recovery and care of surgical patients.
- Attends the neonatal station in the C/Section suite and completely assesses the neonate post-delivery.
- Attends fetal monitoring certification classes every two years.
- Attend S T A B L E certification class if offered is NRP certified.
- Able to identify necessary information to be communicated to physicians and patients.
- Must have 2 years of recent hospital experience working in L&D, Mother/Baby, Nursery & Post Partum/GYN
- Must have ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP & AWHONN certifications (Must be through the American Heart Association), RQI not accepted
- Must have Oklahoma RN license, must be attached to resume
- Candidate will need to have their OK fingerprints
