Job Title: RN - Cardiology
Location: Salinas, CA 45040
Duration: 3 months+ (possibility of extension)


Shift: Days, Mon - Fri, 8 am - 4:30 pm
Pay Rate: $20 - $22 per hour. on W2

Requirements:
  • Licenses: Current California RN license. Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards.
  • Minimum of 1 year clinical Registered Nurse experience required.
  • Precise hand/eye coordination and finger dexterity necessary to administer medications, start IVs, perform procedures, and other direct patient care activities.
  • Ability to relate cooperatively and constructively with patients, families, co-workers, physicians, and other staff.
 
Essential Mental Abilities:
  • Ability to prioritize and perform critical thinking processes, including respiratory, cardio-pulmonary, neuro, and psychosocial assessments.
  • Ability to formulate a plan of care based on assessment and evaluate the patient’s reaction to the plan of care.
 
Essential Sensory Requirements:
  • Must be able to hear, see, verbally communicate, and have tactile sense.
 
Education:
  • Associates of Science in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred.
  • CA RN, BLS, and ACLS required as per AHA standards.
  • RN needs at least 2 years of recent Cardiology experience.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Meet all eligibility requirements of a Registered Nurse I and work under the supervision of the Director.
  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise individualized care in a patient care area according to departmental policies, procedures, and Nurse Practice Act.
  • Individualize patient care based upon age-appropriate and developmental needs.
  • Direct and guide co-workers in the implementation of the plan of care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, patients/families, and healthcare team members to deliver patient care.
  • Utilize positive communication skills to foster teamwork and conflict resolution.
  • Work on other nursing units as needed according to staffing and patient distribution.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served.
  • Complete nursing assessments and document appropriately in patient records.
  • Develop and implement a plan of care based on patient assessment.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members in care planning.
  • Provide, delegate, and coordinate the plan of care.
  • Initiate, manage, and participate in discharge planning.
  • Conduct patient/family teaching and education.
  • Implement skills in accordance with Policies and Procedures.
  • Evaluate and update patient responses to the plan of care.
  • Maintain professional standards by participating in in-services, committees, and performance improvement activities.
  • Facilitate physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual care of patients.
  • Monitor and contribute to cost-effective patient care by tracking time, equipment, and supplies.
  • Comply with safety policies to maintain a safe environment for employees, patients, and visitors.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in response to changes in hospital or unit activities.
  • Act as preceptor and charge nurse as assigned.
  • Actively participate in achieving departmental goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Hours Per Week: 40.00
Hours Per Day: 8.00
