Job Title: RN – Surgical ICU
Location: Oklahoma City, OK, United States
Pay Rate: $60 – $75/hour
Start Date: 10/13/2025
Shift: Nights. 7P - 7A
Duration: 13 weeks
General Description:
Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse provides nursing care in a hospital setting to a variety of patients with health conditions ranging from simple to complex. This position is in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU).
Essential Responsibilities:
These responsibilities are core to the position. Inability to perform them, with or without reasonable accommodation, may result in disqualification.

Manages an assigned group of patients.

Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments; records any changes in physician orders.

Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.

Monitors and obtains physiological data; observes and responds to changes in patient condition.

Administers prescribed medications; initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products.

Delivers safe, competent, and compassionate patient care.

Engages with patients and families in developing and sharing the care plan during hospitalization and at discharge.

Educates patients and families on hospital policies and procedures.

Refers patients to appropriate healthcare personnel as needed.

Delegates appropriate tasks to support staff.
General Responsibilities:

Performs other duties as assigned.
Schedule Notes: ICU experience required; SICU and CRRT experience preferred
Required Skills & Experience:
-
Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
-
Knowledge of nursing theory, techniques, and best practices
-
Strong organizational and critical-thinking skills
-
Ability to coordinate and evaluate nursing services
-
Effective verbal and written communication skills
-
Ability to work collaboratively with a healthcare team
-
Cultural competence and ability to address language needs of patients and families

Basic computer proficiency
Preferred Skills & Experience:
-
SICU (Surgical ICU) experience
-
CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) experience
Education Requirements:
Required:
-
Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Preferred:
-
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a Board-approved program
Certifications & Licensure:
Required:

Current RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or valid multistate compact RN license (eNLC)

Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
-
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association
