Job Title: Occupational Health Nurse III | Local
Location: Corning, NY 14831 (onsite at manufacturing locations – e.g., Client, NY; Addison, NY; Painted Post, NY)
Job Duration: 12 months+ High possibility of extension (Contract)
Pay Range: Up to $52/ hr. on w2
Type: 100% Onsite
Shift: Day shifts available, Monday–Friday, with occasional off-shift hours
Hours: 5–20 hours per week
Work Location & Schedule
- NY (onsite at manufacturing locations – examples: Addison, NY; Painted Post, NY)
- Day shifts available, Monday–Friday, with occasional off-shift hours
The Occupational Registered Nurse will:
- Provide nursing assessments, treatments, and recommendations for Client employees related to illness or injury within their Product of Practice.
- Take vital signs, assess injuries or illnesses, document findings.
- Formulate and educate on treatment plans.
- Perform medical interventions within the RN Product of Practice.
General Duties & Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Document and maintain records related to Client employees’ treatment in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Administration or equivalent regulations.
- Ensure privacy and confidentiality rules are enforced.
- Support the site’s medical Emergency Response Program.
- Guide and manage the disability process by interacting with insurance carriers, Client Benefits, Workers’ Compensation, Safety, and Company Physician/Provider to facilitate processing of work-related illnesses or injuries.
- Ensure effective case management.
- Utilize Client’s PIIM (Post Injury and Illness Management) program for absence management and work accommodations.
- Assist with tracking and managing FMLA requests following medical and legal protocols.
- Perform regulatory required surveillance exams per Occupational Health and Safety Administration or similar standards.
- Participate in Client Health and Safety Programs (e.g., smoking cessation, fitness programs, blood drives, flu shots, weight watchers).
- Participate in pandemic preparedness planning.
- Coordinate with external Occupational Medical Providers as needed.
- Manage medical inventory.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years of Registered Nurse experience, Occupational Health experience preferred.
- Active and current state nursing license.
- Current CPR certification.
- BSN – bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Competent computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Electronic Medical Records.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN / COHN-S).
- Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit, or Med/Surg nursing experience.
- Creativity in promoting health and safety activities.
- Prior experience in manufacturing or corporate health environments.

- Emergency room experience is highly valued
- Assess injuries and understand pros and cons of treatment options
- Strong communication skills are essential

Certification
- CPR certification required.
Preferred Skills
- SAP experience preferred (not mandatory).
