Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU Step Down
Location: Elmhurst, NY 11373
Duration: 3 Months+ (Possible Extension)

Pay Range: $68 - $72/hr. on W2

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM. 3 days/week, 11.5 hrs./day, 34.5 hrs./week, No On-Call Required.
 
Job Summary:

• Provides care for patients transitioning from ICU requiring higher level monitoring than Med/Surg
• Performs frequent patient assessments and monitors clinical status
• Utilizes medical equipment including ventilators, cardiac monitors, feeding tubes, and catheters
• Responds to cardiac arrest and rapid response situations
• Ensures timely escalation of changes in patient condition
• Maintains patient safety and adherence to clinical protocols
• Delivers care to patient population ranging from young adults to geriatric
• Works within a typical RN to patient ratio of 1:4

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited program.
• Graduate of an accredited National League for Nursing (NLN) school.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Primary Source Verification from NYS Department of Education (NYSED)
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
• American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

• Minimum two (2) years Medical/Surgical Step Down or ICU experience.
• Minimum two (2) years IV insertion and phlebotomy experience.
• Minimum two (2) years of conscious sedation experience.
• Patient assessment and monitoring.
• Escalation of changes in patient condition.
• Cardiac arrest and rapid response handling.
• Age-specific competencies.
• Experience with catheters, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, ventilators, and cardiac monitors.
