Travel: RN Wound Care Coordinator Days
Location: Indianapolis, IN 46250
Duration: 13 weeks (starting 9/1/2025)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM (weekends possible based on patient admits)
Experience Required: Minimum 3 years recent Wound Care Coordinator experience
Licenses/Certifications:

Indiana RN license (must be attached to resume)

WOCN, CWS, or WCC certification required

BLS certification through American Heart Association (RQI certifications not accepted)
Position Summary:
Manages the facility s wound care program to ensure delivery of high-quality, cost-effective care for patients with wounds, ostomies, and continence needs. Provides direct patient care and supports nursing staff by serving as a clinical consultant to affiliated healthcare agencies.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement wound care program protocols, documentation tools, formulary, and referral criteria aligned with national standards.

Establish and maintain wound care standards, competencies, policies, and procedures across clinical staff.

Act as primary consultant for wound care clinicians and facility staff; advocate for patients with physicians.

Provide ongoing education on wound care products and treatment protocols to hospital staff.

Evaluate wounds at admission and throughout stay to develop treatment plans and identify problems early.

Consult on patients with pressure injuries and any wounds not showing measurable healing within two weeks.

Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to develop and adjust comprehensive wound care plans.

Review medical records to ensure accurate documentation and appropriate wound treatments.

Investigate adverse wound events through root cause analysis and develop action plans with nursing leadership.

Participate in clinical outcome monitoring, performance improvement initiatives, and CMS quality data reporting (LTRAX).

Collaborate with clinical operations to maintain a cost-effective wound care formulary.

Assist with onboarding and training new wound care coordinators within the hospital division.
