Job Title: RN - Emergency Department
Location Available: Portland, ME 04102
Duration: 6 Month+ Contract (Possibilities of Extension)
Shift: Flexible, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime
Shifts Available: 7:30 am – 8:00 pm, 9:30 am – 10:00 pm, 11:30 am – 12:00 am, or 7:30 pm – 8:00 am
Contract Type: Travel
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week

Unit Summary:
- Unit Type: Emergency Department
- Trauma Level: Level 1 Trauma Center – Only one in the state
- Bed Count: 63+
- Average Census: 200+ visits per 24 hours
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Patient Age Range: All ages (0–120); pediatric assignments optional if not familiar
- Specialties: Stroke & STEMI center, large elderly and behavioral health populations
- Facility Type: Teaching hospital, dynamic team-oriented environment
- Note: RN will not work in trauma/resuscitation bays or triage.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Active RN license (state-specific or compact as applicable)
- ACLS – Required
Preferred Certifications:
- ENPC
- PALS
- TNCC
- CEN
- CPI or MOAB (non-violent intervention)
Required Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of ED RN experience
- Level 1 trauma experience strongly preferred
EMR: EPIC
Equipment Used:
- IV Pumps
- Cardiac Monitoring

- Team player with strong communication skills
- Professional, flexible, and adaptable in a high-volume, high-acuity setting
- Positive attitude and dependable work ethic
- Experience in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
Dress Code:
- Scrub Color: No specific color required; hospital-provided light blue scrubs available
- Unacceptable Attire: Hoodies, T-shirts with unprofessional language or images
