RN - Med Surg

Job Title: Clinical Nurse (Medical-Surgical Unit - Client West)
Location: 1000 10th Ave, New York, NY 10019
Contract Type: 13 weeks (possible extension)
Hours: 34.5 hours/week, 11.5 hours/day, 3 days/week
Shift: Night Shift, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Every Other Weekend Required)
Pay Rate: $60/hour negotiable (**Per-diem rates are also applicable for qualified candidates)

Role Overview:
The Clinical Nurse in the Medical-Surgical Unit is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe, competent, and quality care to patients based on nursing theory, research, and evidence-based practices. The role includes direct patient care, collaboration with the healthcare team, patient education, and ensuring safety and quality of care. The Clinical Nurse will also be involved in improving patient experiences and contributing to operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education:

• Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Associate degree in nursing may be considered with relevant experience or active enrollment in a BSN program.

Certifications & Licensure:

• Required: Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
• Required: BLS (Basic Life Support).
• Preferred: Experience with EPIC.

Experience:

• Required: Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical experience.
• Required for Travel: 1 year of travel nursing experience
• Required: 2+ years of RN experience.

Skills:

• Strong clinical, critical thinking, and patient care management skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Excellent communication, empathy, and active listening with patients, families, and colleagues.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices and patient-centered care.
