Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg
Location: Detroit, MI 48236
Duration: 3 Months+ contract (Possible Extension)
 
Schedule Notes: 07:00 - 19:30 3x12s rotating, every other weekend required.

Job Summary:

• Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
• Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
• Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.
• Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN).

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• BLS

• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans within the unit/department to which staff is assigned.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

• REQUIRED: Minimum 2-3 years Med Surg experience, current MI RN licensure, BLS certification from AHA.
• Candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Candidates with previous travel experience are highly preferred.
• Unit is a Med Surg unit that sees a lot of respiratory conditions and some substance/alcohol abuse withdraw.
• They also see general Med Surg patients, but the large portion will be respiratory conditions.
• This unit is also the go to for patients needing infectious isolation for respiratory conditions at this location.
