Duration: 3 + Months (Strong Possibility of Extension)
Pay Rate: $70/hr. on W2
Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
Hours/Week: 36

Position Overview
The ICU RN provides advanced, critical care for patients in the Intensive Care Unit and may float to the ED, PACU, or IMC units as needed. The role requires strong clinical judgment, ICU experience, and the ability to deliver high-quality care to critically ill patients. The RN ensures safe, evidence-based practice, documentation accuracy, and compliance with hospital policies and protocols.

Position Overview

The RN ensures safe, evidence-based practice, documentation accuracy, and compliance with hospital policies and protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough patient assessments upon admission and continuously monitor patient condition
- Establish, implement, and update individualized patient care plans
- Administer medications safely, including high-risk drugs, and manage pain and sedation protocols
- Follow early mobility, sepsis, ventilator-associated pneumonia, central line, and pressure ulcer protocols
- Utilize bedside cardiac monitors, pressure monitoring, specialty beds, and Pyxis for medication administration
- Recognize and respond to cardiac dysrhythmias and other critical changes in patient status
- Document assessments, interventions, medication administration, and patient responses accurately in EMR
- Communicate patient status changes promptly to physicians and healthcare team members using SBAR
- Participate in multidisciplinary care planning and discharge planning
- Educate patients and families based on assessed needs, using approved educational tools
- Follow hospital infection control policies, patient safety goals, blood transfusion protocols, and Core Measures
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years recent ICU RN experience in acute care facilities
- CA RN License
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Experience in conscious sedation
- Preferred: SICU, MICU, Trauma experience
- Ability to float to ICU, ED, PACU, and IMC units as needed
Clinical Competencies:
- ICU patient care: assessments, multi-disciplinary care plans, progress notes, ICU flow sheets
- Critical thinking in high-acuity patient scenarios
- Administration and monitoring of medications and specialty treatments
- Knowledge of hospital protocols for sepsis, ventilator-associated pneumonia, central lines, and pressure ulcers
- Application of core nursing principles, sterile technique, and patient safety standards
