Job Type: Full-Time / Contract

General Description:
Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients in a hospital setting. The patient population includes individuals with a range of health conditions, from routine to complex. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients, while working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
 
Essential Responsibilities:
These responsibilities are fundamental to the role. Inability to perform them, with or without reasonable accommodation, may result in disqualification.
  • Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
  • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
  • Record and act on all changes in physician orders
  • Assist physicians during patient examinations and minor procedures
  • Monitor and evaluate patients’ physiological data and respond appropriately to clinical changes
  • Administer prescribed medications and manage intravenous infusions and blood products
  • Deliver competent, compassionate, and timely patient care
  • Educate patients and families about care plans and hospital procedures, both during admission and at discharge
  • Make referrals to appropriate healthcare team members or services based on patient needs
  • Delegate appropriate tasks to support staff and oversee completion
 
General Responsibilities:
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet operational needs
 
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum of one (1) year of recent hospital-based nursing experience
  • In-depth knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities with attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Culturally competent care delivery and the ability to meet the needs of diverse populations
  • Basic computer literacy for charting and clinical documentation
