Job Title: RN - Progressive Care Unit
Location Available: Rochester, MI 48307
Duration: 3 Months+ Contract (Possibilities of Extension)
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | Must work every Saturday & Sunday
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Overtime: OT billable after 48 hours/week
Job Summary:
The PCU Registered Nurse provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of safe, quality, and compassionate care in a high-acuity progressive care setting. Using the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—the RN delivers and supervises direct patient care while effectively communicating with patients, families, and the healthcare team. The role requires consistent weekend availability and participation in holiday staffing.

Core Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Deliver and delegate patient care appropriately according to scope of practice.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to address patient goals and resolve variances.
- Document care accurately in the EMR (Cerner).
- Educate patients and families, providing emotional support as needed.
- Adhere to policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure high standards of care.
Requirements:
Education:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (required).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Current Michigan RN license (active and in good standing) – Required
- BLS & ACLS – Required (AHA preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required (PCU, Stepdown, or ICU experience ideal)
- Experience with Cerner EMR – Required
Additional Info:
- One week of RTO allowed during assignment.
- Must work one winter holiday (day or evening shift).
- Patient population requires intermediate/step-down level of care.
