Job Title: Insurance Clerk
Location: Salinas, CA – 93901
Duration: 3 Months (Possible Extension)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM


Job Summary
The Insurance Clerk performs clerical and administrative tasks related to patient billing, insurance claims processing, and account verification to ensure timely reimbursement and accurate financial records.


Responsibilities
  • Process billing for inpatient and outpatient services
  • Verify patient account information and reconcile discrepancies
  • Submit claims to insurance carriers and process adjustments
  • Follow up on unpaid or denied claims
  • Communicate with insurance providers and patients
  • Maintain documentation and account records
  • Process late charges and rebilling when required
  • Assist with claim corrections and billing updates


Requirements
  • Experience in medical billing or healthcare administration
  • Knowledge of insurance claims processing
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Basic computer and data entry skills

  • Experience in medical billing / insurance processing
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to handle high-volume administrative tasks


Nice-to-Have
  • Experience with hospital billing systems

  • Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid billing
