Phlebotomist II - Float
Location: Hialeah, FL, 33012
Duration: 4 Months
Shift: Monday -Friday 6am-3pm Every Saturday 6:30am-11am
Job Summary
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) is a front-line healthcare professional responsible for delivering high-quality patient care through accurate and safe blood specimen collection. This role requires strong phlebotomy skills, excellent customer service, and strict adherence to confidentiality, safety, and procedural standards. PSR IIs may work in patient service centers, physician offices, or float between multiple locations based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities

Perform venipuncture, capillary, forensic, and clinical specimen collection following established procedures

Accurately label specimens in the presence of the patient and verify patient identity and signatures

Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing

Maintain required documentation, records, and patient demographic information

Create a professional, safe, and patient-focused environment

Explain procedures clearly to patients to build trust and confidence

Demonstrate leadership behaviors and process excellence

Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements

Represent the organization positively to patients, clients, staff, and the public

Perform daily tasks accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor
Required Skills and Competencies

Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients
-
Strong attention to detail and ability to produce error-free work

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Strong customer service and communication skills

Ability to follow established procedures and exercise sound judgment

Keyboarding and data entry proficiency

Flexibility and adaptability to changing schedules and locations
Education Requirements
-
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
-
Medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred)
-
Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required in CA, NV, and WA)
Experience Requirements
-
Minimum of 3 years of phlebotomy experience (required), including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
-
At least 2 years of Patient Service Center experience (preferred)

Customer service experience in a retail or service environment (preferred)
Work Schedule & Availability
-
Must be flexible to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts
-
Must be available to work scheduled shifts, arrive on time, and remain for the full shift

Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may result in termination
