Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Location: Santa Clara, CA 95051 (Bay Area)
Contract Type: 3 Months+ (Possible Extension)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 3x12-hour shifts per week
Pay Local: $70 - $80/hr. - W2
Pay Traveler: $3200 - $3700/week. on W2
Job Description:
We’re seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to join the team at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Medical Center. The RN will provide compassionate, high-quality care to expectant mothers through all stages of labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum recovery.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of recent (within the last 3 years) full-time Labor & Delivery experience
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Duties:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to mothers during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum recovery, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using electronic fetal monitoring and respond promptly to any signs of distress or complications.
- Administer prescribed medications, including high-risk drugs such as magnesium sulfate and oxytocin, in accordance with clinical protocols.
- Collaborate closely with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and neonatal teams to coordinate safe and effective patient care.
- Educate and support patients and families throughout the childbirth process, promoting understanding of procedures, recovery, and newborn care.
License & Certifications Required:
- CA RN License (Active)
- BLS – Basic Life Support
- NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring (Preferred)
