Job Duration: 3 Months+ (Possibilities of Extension)

Unit: Acute Behavioral Health – Psych Unit
Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: Block scheduling required (e.g., Fri-Sat-Sun or Sat-Sun-Mon)
 
Facility Overview:
Join our dedicated team at a comprehensive acute psychiatric facility that operates across five specialized units with a total capacity of 72 beds. We provide high-quality, compassionate care for a diverse patient population, including both voluntary and involuntary admissions, ranging from pediatrics (age 5+) to geriatric adults.
 
Key Details:

• Bed Count: 72
• Units: 5 distinct psychiatric units
• Patient Types: Adults & children with acute behavioral health needs
• Security: No on-site security (occasional incarcerated patients)
• Support Staff: RNs, Behavioral Health Associates (BHAs), House Supervisors (always present)
• Floating: Within facility units only (not to external facilities)
• Dress Code: Solid scrubs (maroon, grey, navy, or black)
• Parking: Onsite available
• Visitor Hours: Restricted to select evening hours
• Restraints: Only physical restraints are used

 
Schedule & Shift Requirements:

• Shift Type: Night shift only (12-hour shifts: 7 PM – 7 AM)
• Hours per Week: Choice of straight 36 hours or alternating 36/48 hour rotations
• Block Scheduling: Required — no shift modifications permitted
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend mandatory

 
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio:

• Consistent 1:12 ratio across both day and night shifts

 
Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of direct psychiatric and acute care nursing experience
• Current CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification — will be provided onsite if not already certified
• Background Check: Must complete the Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check onsite with a wet signature
• Licensure: Active RN license in the state of Wisconsin (or compact eligible)
• Travel Experience: Not required – first-time travelers are welcome
• Orientation: Provided prior to shift assignment
