Shift: 2nd Shift
Schedule: 7/70 B Week, 12:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m.
Schedule Notes: Must be competent in EMU (EEG-LTM-EMU). Minimum of 2 years of experience required. Weekends required. No on-call.
Required Skills & Experience

Proven ability to perform Electroencephalography.

Telemetry required (for EMU).
Preferred Skills & Experience

2+ years of proven experience as a Neurodiagnostic Technician.

Nerve Conduction Velocity Testing.

Autonomics.

Long Term Monitoring.

Magnetoencephalography.
Education

Required: High school graduate or equivalent.

Preferred: Graduate of an accredited Neurodiagnostic Technology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalography and Evoked Potentials (ABRET).
Licensure & Certifications

Required: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA-approved equivalent (required within 90 days of hire).

Preferred: Registered by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) in a minimum of one of the following:

Registered Electroencephalography Technologist (EEG).

Registered Nerve Conduction Velocity Testing (EMG/NCV).
-
Certified Autonomic Professional (CAP).
-
Certified Long Term Monitoring Technologist (CLTM).
-
Registered Evoked Potential Technologist.

Job Summary
-
Under limited supervision, prepares patients for a variety of neurodiagnostic studies, including EEG, EMG, long-term and intraoperative monitoring, evoked potentials, nerve conduction velocities, autonomic testing, Neuro Interventional radiology WADA, and PET.

Accurately measures and applies electrodes according to the International 10-20 System, ensuring proper impedance.

Documents comprehensive patient history and explains procedures to patients and families.

Recognizes medical contraindications for activation procedures.
-
Performs neurodiagnostic procedures per lab standards and maintains equipment and exam rooms.

Implements alternative methods or control adjustments to optimize recordings, including artifact elimination and activation procedures.

Follows EMU Observer I standards of care and maintains quality EEG recordings.
-
Assists with scheduling, charge entry, and front desk duties.
-
May be required to float to other sites to ensure department operations.
