Job Title: RN - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Job Location: Oakland, CA 94611
Job Duration: 3 Months (possibility of extension)
Shift: 7:00pm - 7:30am
Payrate: $76/ hr. on w2
Job Department: Cardio PICU
Pay Package: Best in Market
Stipends: Available for candidates residing 50+ miles from the facility

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide direct, high-acuity nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients with complex cardiac conditions.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, and invasive lines (arterial lines, central lines, CVP, etc.).
• Manage ventilators, titrate vasoactive drips, and administer complex medication regimens.
• Assist with pre- and post-operative care for pediatric cardiac surgery patients.
• Perform rapid patient assessments and initiate emergency interventions as clinically indicated.
• Collaborate with pediatric intensivists, cardiologists, surgeons, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary care teams.
• Operate and troubleshoot advanced critical-care equipment.
• Educate and support patients’ families, providing clear clinical updates and compassionate guidance.
• Maintain accurate, real-time documentation in accordance with hospital policy and regulatory standards.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety protocols, and PICU best practices.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of cardiac nursing experience.
• Minimum 5 years of recent, dedicated PICU experience (no floating).
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Active RN license in the state where care is provided.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
