Job Title: Occupational Health Nurse
Location: Walpole, MA 02032
Duration: 11 Months+ (with possible extension)
Shift Start and End Time: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $41.35/hr. on W2

Responsible for assessing, implementing, evaluating, and coordinating occupational health care services for employees at assigned on-site facility.

Job Summary:
Responsible for assessing, implementing, evaluating, and coordinating occupational health care services for employees at assigned on-site facility.
Essential Job Functions:
- Performs job functions in accordance with Medical Director and *** policies and works within standing orders, guidelines/protocols.
- Manages on-site occupational health clinic.
- Maintains and protects confidentiality of health records and related information.
- Manages oversight of the Body Fluid Donor Program, including but not limited to review of the annual medical history, review of vital signs and hemoglobin results to determine approval.
- Provides medical case management for Workers’ Compensation Claims, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, FMLA, and ADA.
- Assesses and treats occupational and non-occupational illnesses and injuries, including follow-up.
- Provides health services including, but not limited to, counseling, teaching, immunizations, TB skin tests, and blood pressure checks.
- Acts as a liaison between physicians, supervisors/managers, HR partners, and the employee to allow early return to work by accommodating work restrictions outlined by the treating physician.
- Assists with OSHA log record keeping.
- Completes and documents all necessary forms and record keeping in electronic medical records.
- Performs or assists with medical surveillance exams.
- Works collaboratively with safety in reviewing, monitoring, and follow-up of employee incident reporting.
- Identifies injury/illness trends and recommends interventions to promote effective safety practices.
- Drafts policy and procedures and makes recommendations to management.
- Develops, provides, or coordinates training and wellness programs.
- Checks and maintains emergency equipment including oxygen and AED.
- Manages medical emergency response team.
- Provides superior customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Minor Job Functions:
- Perform other duties as requested.
Education, Certificates and Licensure Requirements:
- Massachusetts Registered Nurse License (Certified as COHN is preferred).
- Clinical experience in occupational medicine preferred.
- BLS Certification.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- General familiarity with occupational health, hospital employee health, infection control, and safety programs.
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements and workers’ compensation.
- Skills in decision-making and problem-solving.
- Broad knowledge of nursing and case management.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to talk and hear.
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and use hands and fingers to feel, reach with hands and arms.
- May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Required vision abilities include close and distant vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
