Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical (MS)
Location: Lafayette, CO/ Grand Junction, CO
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 36 Hours per Week
Shift: Day/Night
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical (MS) performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical duties in accordance with accepted practice standards defined by the State Board of Nursing. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while ensuring optimal outcomes through evidence-based practices.
Responsibilities / Duties
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients.
• Continuously evaluate patient health status through data collection and clinical assessment.
• Provide health education and counseling to patients and families.
• Deliver therapeutic and restorative care directly or through delegation, supervision, or consultation.
• Execute delegated medical functions safely and effectively.
• Refer patients for further evaluation or treatment when necessary.
• Monitor and review therapy and treatment plans for effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Utilize available resources efficiently to support patient care.
• Promote organizational mission, vision, and values while adhering to service excellence standards.
• Float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications as needed.
• Participate in on-call rotations during scheduled shifts if required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills & Experience
At least 1 Year Prior recent experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), preferably in Medical-Surgical settings
Education Requirements
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited School of Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Certifications & Licensure
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
• Additional certifications as applicable to unit/service (ACLS, NRP, PALS) or Specialty certification relevant to Medical-Surgical or assigned unit
