Job Title: RN – Med/Surg
Location: Brooklyn, New York, 11203
Duration: 04/29/2026 – 08/01/2026
Shift: 8:00 PM – 8:30 AM
Schedule: 3 days/week, 11.5 hrs/day, 34.5 hrs/week, Every other weekend required, No On-Call
Schedule Notes: Must work 3 shifts per week with every other weekend and 1-hour lunch breaks
Work Setting: Acute Care – Med/Surg (ED Overflow Support)
Pay Range: $60-$64/hr.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals
- Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgical patients
- Administer and document medications accurately
- Perform wound care, dressing changes, catheter insertion, and IV initiation
- Monitor patient vitals and report adverse reactions promptly
- Operate and adjust specialized medical equipment
- Collaborate on discharge planning with interdisciplinary teams
- Educate patients and families on procedures and post-care instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Follow established nursing standards, protocols, and best practices
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum two (2) years of Med/Surg experience in:
- Acute care hospital setting (recent within 1 year), OR
- Post-acute or acute care setting (recent within 1 year)
- Physical assessment
- Medication administration
- Wound care & infection control
- IV therapy
- Post-operative care
- Patient education
- Telemetry monitoring
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- EPIC EMR experience
Education:
- Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- New York State RN License (with Primary Source Verification)
- AHA BLS
Additional Information:
- High-volume ED environment supporting admitted Med/Surg patients
- Approximately 40 admitted patients per shift requiring Med/Surg RN support
