Pay range: $61.50 - $66.50/hr. on W2

Job Summary:
The Cat Scan Technologist performs computed tomography (CT) procedures, producing sectional and 3D diagnostic images for interpretation. The technologist assists with interventional and therapeutic CT procedures and ensures patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process.

Job Summary:
The Cat Scan Technologist performs computed tomography (CT) procedures, producing sectional and 3D diagnostic images for interpretation. The technologist assists with interventional and therapeutic CT procedures and ensures patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform complex CT scans and procedures accurately and efficiently
- Review and document clinical history for each patient in PACS
- Prepare, screen, and verify contrast questionnaire in EPIC with patient/family
- Administer contrast media per protocol and physician direction
- Review and confirm exam prescriptions for appropriateness; coordinate with radiologists and referring physicians for clarification or modification
- Verify insurance authorization and complete any necessary forms for re-verification
- Schedule and prepare external studies for review in EPIC/PACS
- Provide exam copies to patients and requesting physicians/family members
- Evaluate image quality and ensure proper documentation in PACS
- Gather patient-specific clinical information for protocol development
- Confirm proper patient prep, shielding, and use of immobilization devices
- Select and administer appropriate type and dosage of contrast agents
- Communicate procedures clearly to patients at a level they understand
- Perform venipuncture and monitor for any adverse reactions during procedures
- Participate in scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Lift a minimum of 25 lbs., push/pull up to 50 lbs., and stand at least 6 hours per shift
- Modify care delivery to meet diverse patient needs (age, language, impairments, etc.)
- Follow organizational standards of behavior, punctuality, and identification policies
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and radiographic positioning
- Proficient with CT software/hardware functionality and PACS systems
- Must maintain required CEU credits
- Must obtain ARRT (CT) certification within 12 months of hire
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) within 3 months of hire
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- 6+ months of CT experience preferred
- Familiarity with Epic and other HIS/RIS systems used in medical imaging
