Phlebotomist I
Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: Wimauma, FL
Duration: 4+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Rotational Saturday)
Position Overview:
The Phlebotomist I (Patient Services Representative I) serves as the face of the organization, interacting directly with patients for routine health checks or critical diagnostic needs. This role involves collecting high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring adherence to established safety and procedural standards. The ideal candidate will create an atmosphere of trust and confidence, demonstrating professionalism and accuracy in every interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
- Collect and process forensic and clinical specimens following established protocols.
- Accurately maintain records and documentation.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and promote a positive organizational image.
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to produce quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic) Preferred
- Phlebotomy Certification Preferred (Required in CA, NV, WA)
Experience:
- Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience required; 1+ year preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or service environment preferred.
- Proficiency in keyboard/data entry required.
Additional Details:
- Must have reliable transportation (rideshare/bus not considered reliable).
- Must be punctual and available for the entire scheduled shift.
- Excessive absenteeism/tardiness will result in termination.
- Candidates should live within 20–25 minutes commute of the worksite.
